We've had a wonderful first week of school!

NEWS & NOTES
Drop Off/Pick Up Next Week: As we prepare for Fall Fest, we will need to change our drop off and pick up procedures next week. Very important information will be coming soon. Keep an eye on your inbox!

Staffing Update: We are excited to announce that Mrs. Brianna Rasmussen will be joining St. Charles School as our school librarian! She has her degrees in English and Communication Studies from the University of Iowa and has been working at the Hartland Public Library for about three years. She is a St. Charles alum, has been a St. Charles substitute teacher, and has two children of her own here, as well. She will be shadowing Mrs. Acker next week and will officially start on Monday, September 12

8th Grade Commissioning Mass: Our first all-school Mass of the year will be tomorrow with 8th Graders leading the Mass! Mass begins at 8:30 a.m. Students must be in uniform. All are welcome to join! Parents may park in the West lot for Mass.

After-School Care: We are currently looking for an After-School Care Assistant! Please contact the School Office for more information. This position will be Monday through Friday from 3:15-5:45 p.m. 

Girl Scouts: Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. At St. Charles, we currently have Troops for 1st-4th Grade. We are looking for Troop Co-Leaders and other volunteer positions to start a 5K Daisy Troop. If you are interested in having your daughter join Girl Scouts, please fill out the interest form (new scouts only). Please contact Kim Halvorson if you have any questions.  

Mass Schedule: Join us at our school Masses! Please check out our Mass schedule for this year. Mass begins at 8:30 a.m. each day.

Women of Christ Conference: The Women of Christ Conference will be on Saturday, November 5 at the Washington County Fair Park. This year's theme is "A Time for Fearless Faith." Check out their flier for more information, and please visit their website to register. 
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Art Room Volunteering: Interested in helping with our art classes for students in 5K-5th Grade? We would love your assistance! Parents are asked to help with getting supplies to students, helping with clean up, and assisting students in general with their projects when help is needed. Parents can come weekly or be part of a rotating schedule. Please contact Dianne Binger if you are interested.

Lunch Room & Health Room: Interested in volunteering in our lunch room or health room? We would love your help! Please visit our sign-up pages to see what opportunities are available. Please remember that volunteers must complete Safe Environment training before they can volunteer in the school.

Fall Fest Volunteering: Fall Fest is taking place from September 9-11, and we would love your help! Please visit our website to check out what opportunities are available. 
REMINDERS
Youth Choir & Schola: Both Youth Choir and Schola are starting soon for students in 3rd-8th Grade! Is your child interested in sharing their vocal talents? Please visit our website for more information!

Attendance Information: If your child will be absent or is arriving late, please contact the School Office at 262-367-2040 or via email by 8:30 a.m. If your child would like hot lunch that day, please let us know which lunch they would prefer at that time. Lunch orders received after 8:30 a.m. cannot be guaranteed.

Culver's Night Out: Our first Culver's Night Out is on Monday, September 5 from 5-8 p.m. at the Hartland location. Mention you're with St. Charles so that we will receive 10% of the evening's sales.

St. Charles Basketball: Registration is still open for basketball for all 5th-8th Grade students! Spots are available, and we would love to fill all of our teams. The basketball season runs from November through February. Please visit our Athletics page for more information and to register! 

Food Drive Donations: St. Charles is coordinating a community food drive in conjunction with Fall Fest through Sunday, September 11. Food donation bins are in the Borromeo Room and by the Gym entrance. Specific items in need are fruit juice, toilet paper, Kleenex, paper towel, cleaning supplies, and spaghetti sauce. 

Hot Lunch: If you would like your child to participate in the hot lunch program, you will need to register for an account with Kettle Moraine. Please visit their website for more information and to register.
