THE WEEKLY RUNDOWN
September 5, 2019

MISSION STATEMENT: St. Charles Parish School in Hartland, Wisconsin nourishes and grows a vibrant Catholic community committed to innovation, responsiveness and compassion as it prepares and challenges students in their intellectual, spiritual and moral lives.

Parents and Students,

Thank you so much for your help and patience while we gear up for Fall Fest! We are getting better and quicker with this temporary procedure everyday while maintaining the safety of our children. It also helps to have Fr. Nick out there directing traffic!

Last night, we held the first of two Parent Info Nights. Thank you to all of the parents and families that joined us to learn more about what St. Charles Parish School is doing and working to do in the future. Our teachers held informative meetings in their classrooms and spoke passionately about the work they do with their students each and every day. We greatly appreciate your presence and the partnership in your child's education!

Following His plan,
Mr. Garvey

NEWS & NOTES

Please welcome Katie Brister, our new music teacher! Katie is a recent graduate of Harding University with a passion for elementary music education. She has performed in various choruses over the last decade, most recently with the Milwaukee Symphony Chorus. Although mostly a vocalist, Katie also enjoys playing the piano, guitar, and ukulele.

Fall Fest Dress Down: Students can dress down for $2 on Friday, September 6. This is a special Dress Down offer because we know kids will want to hit the carnival rides at Fall Fest right after school. Bring the money in on Friday, September 6 and give it to your teacher. For guidelines on what to wear for Dress Down, click here and visit page 28.

SCRIP gift cards are available in the Parish office and are listed on the school website under SCRIP/SCRIP Order Form. When you buy products with SCRIP gift cards, you support our parish and school! If you have any questions, please contact the Parish Office. Please note that all orders must be picked up in the Parish Office unless you have signed a release form.

Safeguarding Training: Any individual that is in contact with students needs to complete Safe Environment Education training, which includes ALL employees and volunteers. This is a one-time training and is offered at various locations in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee throughout the year. If you have not completed the training, please click to view the upcoming trainings and register. Individuals who have completed the training need to have a background check and sign the Code of Ethical Standards every five years.

Help Still Needed For Fall Fest
There are a handful of shifts still open for this weekend's fundraiser. If you haven't signed up, now is the time to do so. We ask all school families to spend some of their volunteer hours on Fall Fest. Help is needed with parking, food service, the games tent and other areas, especially 50/50 Raffle sales. Raffle tickets are available in the Parish Office and at the back of church. Please sign up today for a volunteer shift! If you are interested in volunteering. please click here to sign up. Graphic Design Volunteer Wanted
The St. Charles Parish School marketing committee is seeking graphic design and production support in a few different ways:
  • Occasional graphics developed for social media posts and web page hero images (we are limited to very strict size specifications)
  • The occasional sell sheet (flyer)
The final deliverables we request are typically in tiff, png, jpg or PDF format.

In most cases, we will provide the overall design direction, assets such as images or stock images, color specs, size, and copy. You would then use your graphic design mastery and tools to produce the final product.

You can log your time as SERVICE HOURS!

If you'd like to hear more, please contact Allison Caswell.
