Men's Small Groups

St. Charles offers men, women, young adults, and couples an opportunity to authentically seek Jesus in small faith sharing communities.  Small Groups are groups of 8 to 12 people who meet weekly in member’s homes throughout the Lake Country area to pray, discuss scripture, and walk with one another in our faith journey.  Small groups are great for anyone desiring community and wishing to grow in their love for Jesus Christ and His Church.

If you wish to join a Small Group or have further questions, please contact Maria Notch.

FAQs

  • How does a Small Group compare to a Bible Study?
    • Small Groups go beyond just studying scripture. Members share life and faith, reflect on Sunday Scripture, and pray for and with one another. Small Groups are the place you connect with other growing disciples.

  • What does a typical Small Group gathering look like?
    • Small Groups generally meet regularly at homes throughout the Lake Country area and last for an hour and a half. They include time for fellowship, prayer, and reflection on the upcoming Sunday’s Scripture. Together they dig into a deeper understanding of the Lord and seek to apply it to their own lives. Throughout COVID, there are also Small Groups who meet virtually over Zoom or another platform.

  • How long is my commitment to a Small Group?
    • Small Groups typically meet twice a year for 6-8 weeks. Some groups, however, choose to meet year-round. Traditional Small Groups meet during the Fall and Lenten Seasons.

  • Am I able to change groups if my schedule or availability change?
    • Our desire is to match you with a group that will meet your needs, so we will do our best to find a group that meets your preferences and availability.  Please contact Maria Notch at 262-367-0800 Ext. 220 if you need to find another Small Group.

  • Do I need to bring anything to my Small Group?
    • You do not need to bring anything to Small Group, but if you own a Bible, you can bring that. Others utilize the use of a Bible app on their smart phone to follow along with the readings.

  • Do I have to be Catholic to join a St. Charles Small Group?
    • One does not need to be Catholic to join a Small Group. We hope that all members come with a desire to learn and grow together in faith in Jesus Christ and understand that all St. Charles Small Groups hold to all the tenets of the Catholic Faith.

  • How do I join a group?
    • There are two ways:  prior to the Fall and Lent Small Group seasons, we offer an interest sign up that is promoted through the parish bulletin, website, and Mass announcements. Interested people are matched to groups with openings based on their schedule and availability. You may also contact Maria Notch at 262-367-0800 ext. 220 at any time to inquire about joining a group. Small Groups are filled on a first come, first serve basis.
