The Weekly Rundown

MISSION STATEMENT: St. Charles Parish School in Hartland, Wisconsin nourishes and grows a vibrant Catholic community committed to innovation, responsiveness and compassion as it prepares and challenges students in their intellectual, spiritual and moral lives.

Parents and Students,

We are now back in full swing this week after Christmas Break. Students have been working hard on their MAPS tests and we are excited to see how much they have learned from the beginning of the school year. Stay tuned for those results!

Re-enrollment:  Last month parents should have received an email from TADs with instructions for re-enrollment for the 2019-2020 School Year. As you know, some grade levels fill up quickly so please complete this at your earliest convenience to ensure your spot.

In addition, enrollment for new families opens on Tuesday, Jan. 15. If you have not received the email from TADs, please email me and I will resend it to you. Looking forward to continuing to serve your family and you in the 2019-2020 School Year.

Auction Tickets On Sale Friday: Tickets for the hottest event in town go on sale Friday as our Mardi Gras-themed St. Charles Parish and School Auction and Dinner is less than two months away. In coming weeks you'll hear plenty more about the auction and dinner and all the fun planned for the evening. For now read more details here and be ready to purchase those tickets on Friday.

Crusader Challenge Dance-a-Thon: Also underway are plans for the 2nd Annual Crusader Challenge Dance-a-Thon that takes place on Thursday, Jan. 31 in the afternoon. This is part of our Catholic Schools Week activities and a way to acknowledge our school and raise money for it. More details will be sent home by letter next week but read more about the day here. There will be plenty of cowboys and cowgirls dancing that afternoon!

Inclement Weather:  As we head into the deep winter months, I want to make sure we are prepared for any inclement weather that heads our way. We will follow the Arrowhead School District: if the district closes the high school due to snow or cold, we will also close. Please make sure to check the local news channels and apps for closings as well as our school website. In the event that the school needs to be closed, we will send an email to all parents and also post a notice on the school website. If St. Charles does not close due to a weather-related situation and you feel travel to school is not safe, you reserve the right as a parent to keep your child home for any reason you feel is necessary.

One Quick Note To Mention:  Parents of younger-age students -- please keep an extra pair of pants in your student=E2=80=99s backpack and/or boot bag. We want to make sure students have a backup pair in case they get wet during recess.

8th Grade Formal/Activity Pictures: This past Tuesday Scholastic Reflections was here to take formal pictures of our 8th Graders and all of our clubs, activities and basketball teams for the yearbook. A giant thank you to parent Amy Galati for all her work in organizing this day! I also want to thank parent Haley Sweeney for her assistance with getting groups lined up and in place. Everything ran smoothly and I can=E2=80=99t wait to see the yearbook ... it=E2=80=99s going to be epic!

Following His plan,
Mr. Garvey

A message from Middle School Math Teacher Mrs. Mullen:
Math Club is an extra-curricular club open to middle school students in 6th-8th grade. The students in the club have been participating in fun math activities and games. We are pleased to announce that our St. Charles Math Club attained Silver Level Status in the National Math Club. Sixth grade participants include Liam Stapleton, Charlie Ingrisano, Bobby Walsh, Trevor Waltersdorf and Gabe Collins. These students will now begin working towards Gold Level Status in the National Math Club. We are proud of these St. Charles students and wish them well as they work on a creative, collaborative project and hopefully attain Gold Level Status.
