MISSION STATEMENT: St. Charles Parish School in Hartland, Wisconsin nourishes and grows a vibrant Catholic community committed to innovation, responsiveness and compassion as it prepares and challenges students in their intellectual, spiritual and moral lives.
Happy New Year!
I say it every year ... "Wow! Did Christmas break go fast!"
Even though the days flew by, I feel truly blessed to have had the time to spend with my family. I hope everyone also enjoyed the time spent with family and friends, all the traveling, and the food and treats that come along with vacation.
Thank you for all of the wonderful treats, cards, and gifts! I sincerely appreciate you remembering my family and me during the holiday season.
Re-Enrollment for the 2019-2020 School Year: All current families should have received an email from TADs on Dec. 19 with instructions for re-enrollment. As you know, some grade levels fill up quickly so please complete this quick re-enrollment process at your earliest convenience to ensure your spot. Enrollment for new families opens Jan. 15.
If you have not received the re-enrollment email from TADs, please email me and I will resend it to you. Looking forward to continuing to serve you and your family during the 2019-2020 School Year!
Living Nativity: A big thank you to Mrs. Nancy Neuser, Director of Adult and Family Ministry, for her phenomenal work with the 2nd and 3rd Graders in the Living Nativity! This event was a huge success and truly brings our school community closer together as we celebrate Advent. I'd also like to thank teachers Ms. Ellenbecker, Mrs. Halvorson, and Mrs. Henkel for their help with practices and flexibility with scheduling.

Blessings in a Backpack: This event was AWESOME!! On Thursday, Dec. 20th, our nearly 300 students and staff teamed up for one hour for a service project for Blessings in a Backpack. As a school, we packed just under 3,000 bags of food for children in the Waukesha area who might otherwise go hungry on weekends. A special thank you to Middle School Science Teacher Mrs. Grolemund and Advancement Officer Mrs. Holmes for coordinating this wonderful event and to parent Mr. Gelting for his help with loading, transporting, and unloading the boxes filled with grocery bags of food to a warehouse in Waukesha.
Also a shout-out to the young men of the Catholic Memorial High School Wrestling and Basketball Teams who helped unload the large trailer filled with boxes at the warehouse. These teens did a terrific job of working very quickly. It was also great to see Mrs. Laura Anderson, Principal of Catholic Memorial and the former Principal at St. Charles, helping out our school by gathering the teens for this cause. A sincere thank you to all of you. Let=E2=80=99s do this service project again! To learn more about Blessings in a Backpack click here.

MAP Testing: Students (5K through 8th Grade) will complete the winter MAP tests in reading and math during the next couple weeks. This information will allow students and teachers to see areas of growth from the fall testing period as well as track progress towards goals. Teachers will continue to form/design their instruction based on the information that is provided from these assessments. We will keep you updated on your child's development.
Following His plan,
Mr. Garvey
