*******************************************************************************
St. Charles Parish School cheered on Principal Garvey when he made good on a promise to get a pie in the face for the class that won the recent Penny Wars.
Well, make that 25 pies in the face.
Our good-natured principal took it all in stride and sat calmly as each third-grader and their teacher Mrs. Henkel took a plate of whipped cream and pushed it into his face, head and even his ears.
All of this happened with the entire school watching from the bleachers during our Soles Walk for Catholic Education assembly on Monday. The third-grade class won the honors of "pieing" Principal Garvey.
With nearly 200 registered walkers from St. Charles, the Soles Walk on Saturday, Oct. 20 at Mount Mary University will be a wonderful time as we celebrate Catholic Education and raise money for tuition assistance for our students.
