MISSION STATEMENT: St. Charles Parish School in Hartland, Wisconsin nourishes and grows a vibrant Catholic community committed to innovation, responsiveness and compassion as it prepares and challenges students in their intellectual, spiritual and moral lives.

Thirteen of our Intermediate String Orchestra students performed a collection of Christmas songs for residents at Hartland Place this week with Mrs. Revers!
NEWS & NOTES
Advent Concert: We are looking forward to our Advent Concert tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the Church! Doors will open at 6 p.m. Upon arrival, please walk your child(ren) to their classroom and then proceed to the Church to find a seat. All 3K, 4K, and 5K students will return to their families after their performance and will remain with you until the end of the concert. After your child performs, please have one parent retrieve them from the Pre-K staff. At the conclusion of the concert, please retrieve your child(ren) in 1st-8th Grade from their teacher.

Use Caution on Campus: Please slow down in our parking lot! The Advent season calls us "to be alert and ready, not weighted down and distracted by the cares of this world" (Lk 21:34-36). We ask that you apply our Advent readings to our drop off and pick up times to ensure everyone's safety. We have had a couple of close calls this week in the parking lot and in our drop off line with cars swerving out and around other cars; we've also had a fender bender. We ask that you slow down and follow all safety procedures. We need your help to keep us all safe!

Dress Down Days: Our Student Council is excited to announce that we will have dress down days leading up to Christmas break! Please visit our website to check out themes for each day. Don't forget, tomorrow is Pajama Day!

Pizza Lunch: Our pizza lunch fundraiser is on Wednesday, December 18! Please print and submit the order form to the School Office by tomorrow, December 13. No hot lunch will be served on December 18. Sorry, no late orders will be accepted.

Swing Into Action:
Give the gift of the Gala! Pre-order your tickets or become a sponsor with all the perks for our Jazz and Generosity Gala on Saturday, February 22 at the Delafield Hotel. Enjoy live music featuring our talented alumni from Marquette High and special appearances by our very own Music Director Dr. Aaron Matthews. Plus, our beloved MC Fr. Ariel will return as the man in black! Visit our Gala website for more information.

Cold Weather Gear: Please remember to send your child with the appropriate winter gear (hats, gloves, mittens, boots, snow pants, etc.). Winter weather is here, and many students have been arriving to school without proper attire for the cold weather. As a reminder, students go outside for recess as long as the temperature is above zero degrees. Dress warm!

Lost & Found: If your child has misplaced an item at school, please check our Lost & Found outside of the School Office! Any items that remain unclaimed on Friday, December 20 will be donated to St. Vincent de Paul.

SCRIP Orders: There's still time to order SCRIP and receive it in time for Christmas! Orders placed in the Parish Office by tomorrow, December 13 or online through Raise Right's website by Sunday night will be available to pick up prior to Christmas.

New Hallway Shelves: A big thank you to Bill Claas for making and installing additional hallway shelves with hooks to accommodate our extra classrooms! These extra shelves will allow our current students (as well as future students) more space to hang their coats, backpacks, and snow gear. We are so grateful for his time and talents, and our students appreciate having more storage spaces!

Jingle Shop Thank You: Thank you to everyone who supported our Jingle Shop this year through donations and volunteering! We'd also like to extend a huge thank you to Laurie DeAngelis and Katelyn Gomez for overseeing this year's event. Students loved walking around the shop and purchasing gifts for their family members. Proceeds will go toward improving our Tot Lot area for our youngest scholars.
Middle-School Writing Conference: Ten of our 6th and 7th Grade students had an opportunity to attend the Art of Writing Conference at the Milwaukee Art Museum earlier this week!
REMINDERS
Advent Service Project: We will be creating individual bags of snacks and treats this year for our all-school Advent Service Project, which will be donated to our St. Vincent de Paul food pantry. Students will be decorating bags with faith-filled messages and filling them with yummy treats for people of all ages. Please visit our website for a list of items we need by Monday, December 16. Thank you for supporting our Advent Service Project!

Advent Silent Entrance/Exit: As we prepare for the birth of Jesus throughout Advent, we will bookend the week with silent entrance and silent dismissal. As students enter school on Monday mornings, the dimmed lights will remind them to remain silent as they prepare themselves for the day. On Fridays, students will leave their classrooms in silence. We ask scholars to maintain this silence until they are in the car or on the bus.

Server Training: Is your child interested in becoming a server at Mass? Training opportunities are available throughout December for new servers as well as lead servers. Please visit our website to sign up.

Ski & Snowboard Club: Registration is now open for this year's Ski & Snowboard Club! Students, parents, and parish members are all welcome to join. First-time beginners are encouraged! Please visit our website for more information and to register by Monday, December 16
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteer Opportunities: Below are our current volunteer opportunities. Please consider giving your time to St. Charles! Don't forget, volunteers must complete Safe Environment training before they can volunteer in the school!
