NEWS & NOTES
Recess Help: Are you looking for volunteer hours? Are you in need of some fresh air or want to get some steps in during the day? Please consider volunteering during our lunch recess periods. It's a great way to see your child during the day and have some fun with all of our students. We have lots of kiddos at recess and are always looking for additional eyes and ears to help keep them all safe! Please sign up on our volunteer page. We are especially in need of help tomorrow and next week!

Trunk or Treat Updates: We are looking forward to Trunk or Treat tomorrow! We will have around 250 children attending the event. If you are participating, please have enough candy for all of our very excited kiddos!

Long-Term Sub Needed: We are in search of a long-term substitute teacher for one of our 5K classrooms. If you or someone you know might be interested, please contact Principal Garvey. This is roughly a six-week term starting on Wednesday, November 6. We appreciate your help!

Seton Pep Rally: Please join us in congratulating and cheering on our 8th Grade boys and girls' volleyball teams and their coaches as they head to the Seton Tournament! We will have a Pep Rally for both teams on Monday, October 28 at 2:30 p.m. in the Gym.

Home & School Association Meeting: Our Home & School Association meeting will be on Tuesday, October 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the STEM Room. Parents are invited to come learn more about the HSA and how you can help support our school. 

Endter's Night Out: St. Charles Night at Endter's is on Wednesday, October 30 from 4-10 p.m.! Endter's will donate $5 for every large pizza and $3 for every small pizza to St. Charles Parish School. Dine in or carry out. Don't forget to buy SCRIP for Endter's! They generously give us a 20% rebate on gift cards.

Black/Orange Dress Down Day: All students and staff can wear black and orange on Thursday, October 31 for Halloween!

Halloween Parade: Students in 5K-8th Grade will walk through the neighborhood in their costumes for our annual Halloween Parade on Thursday, October 31Please remember that blood, makeup, gore, and fake weaponry are not allowed. Students will change into their costumes after lunch, so please make sure costumes are easy to put on. We appreciate your help! Students in 3K and 4K will parade within the building and will visit parish offices, as well. It's always fun to see our littles in their costumes!

Halloween Classroom Parties: We will have classroom parties in celebration of Halloween on Thursday, October 31! Please park in the Safe Parking area in our west lot and enter through the school entrance doors if you are volunteering for your child's party. 

St. Charles Shadow Day at CMH: Catholic Memorial is offering an exclusive shadow day for our 7th and 8th Grade students on Tuesday, November 5! Parents are invited to sign up for a private tour, as well. Please check out their flier for more information and to sign up. 

Bag Toss Showdown: The Home & School Association wants to see you in our Borromeo Hall on Saturday, November 16 at the Bag Toss Showdown! The event will run from 6:30-9 p.m. and is open to school parents and parishioners. Get ready to show off your skills with bags and other backyard games! Please check your child's folder to register to toss for the title and/or print out the registration form. We are looking forward to getting teams and spectators together for competition and comradery!
REMINDERS
Parent-Teacher Conferences: Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday, November 4 from 4-7:30 p.m. and Tuesday, November 5 from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Please sign up for a conference with your child's teacher through our online system by Thursday, October 31. Please note there is no school for students on Tuesday, November 5. Parking will be available in our West lot only that day due to St. Charles being the Village of Hartland's host site for voting.

Book Fair: Our annual Book Fair is coming soon! Students will be able to visit the Book Fair and purchase items starting on November 1, and parents are welcome to shop during Parent-Teacher Conferences on November 4 and 5 by the school's Library. The Book Fair will also be open before and after all Masses on Saturday, November 2 and Sunday, November 3 in the Borromeo Hall. To check out the online store, please visit Literati's website! Are you interested in volunteering at the Book Fair or donating supplies for our school-wide activity leading up to the fair? We'd love your help!

Jingle Shop: We are excited to announce that our Jingle Shop will be returning this year on Wednesday, December 4! The Jingle Shop is a favorite fundraiser of the students that allows them to purchase gifts for their family at Christmas. We will be collecting small, new items for the kids to choose from. We are also in need of gift wrapping materials (wrapping paper, gift bags, tissue paper, ribbons, and tape) as well as plastic bags (Sendik's, Piggly Wiggly, etc.). Cash donations will be accepted in the School Office for the purchase of items for the Jingle Shop. Are you interested in volunteering at the Shop? Shorts Policy: New this year, students may wear uniform shorts through October 31. Shorts may not be worn from November 1 through March 31. Uniform shorts may be worn again starting on April 1. Please contact the School Office with any questions.

Chesterton Academy Open House: Chesterton Academy is hosting their Open House on Sunday, November 3 from 1-2:30 p.m.! You are also welcome to schedule a shadow day there this Fall. Please visit their website for more information.
