MISSION STATEMENT: St. Charles Parish School in Hartland, Wisconsin nourishes and grows a vibrant Catholic community committed to innovation, responsiveness and compassion as it prepares and challenges students in their intellectual, spiritual and moral lives.

NEWS & NOTES
Staff Update: We recently learned that Mrs. Claire Almazan, our Spanish teacher, has made the decision to leave St. Charles. We are grateful to Mrs. Almazan for her work and dedication to St. Charles these past five years. Please keep her and her family in your prayers!

Additionally, we are happy to announce that Mrs. Brenda Serrano will be our new Spanish teacher! Mrs. Serrano filled in during Mrs. Almazan's maternity leave last year and did a wonderful job of engaging and challenging students in Spanish.

FACTS Reminder: Please be sure to regularly check your Inbox for emails from FACTS, including about tuition payments. If you are not receiving emails from FACTS, they may be going to your Spam folder.

Adoration Speaker Series: As we prepare for Perpetual Adoration in the new church and in honor of the National Eucharistic Revival, we are pleased to present an entire series on Adoration for our community! We hope you will join us for the following opportunities to grow in your faith:
  • August 31: The History of Adoration with guest speaker Dr. Paul Monson; 6:30 p.m.
  • September 26: What Is Adoration? with guest speaker Fr. Brad Krawczyk; 6:30 p.m.
  • October 22: How to Pray in Adoration with our very own Fr. Ken Omernick; 12:15 p.m.
All of these presentations will take place in church and end with an invitation to participate in Adoration. You are welcome to attend one, two, or all three sessions. Feel free to invite a friend!
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Fall Fest Volunteers: Fall Fest is coming soon, and we need your help to make this event a huge success! Please visit our Fall Fest website to check out open volunteer opportunities and sign up. Please remember that school families are highly encouraged to earn at least 10 volunteer hours from volunteering at our largest fundraisers (Fall Fest and/or our Gala in Spring). This is a fun way to support our parish and school!

Teacher Breakfast: The Home & School Hospitality Committee will host a light breakfast for our wonderful teachers on the first day of school. We would love your help! Please visit the sign-up page to check out what is needed. All donations can be dropped off during Meet and Greet on Monday, August 28. Thank you in advance for your generous help!
REMINDERS
Back-to-School Forms: Back-to-school forms are available on our website! Please print, sign, and return these forms to the School Office by tomorrow, August 18. The School's main entrance doors are open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays until school starts.

Meet & Greet: We are excited to welcome all of our students and staff back to school on Monday, August 28 for Meet & Greet! Families are invited to stop by anytime between 12-6 p.m. to meet teachers, bring in school supplies, and have yearbook photos taken in the Parish Hall.

First Annual Choir Camp: Students in 3rd-8th Grade are invited to join us for our first annual Choir Camp! It will take place on Monday, August 28 from 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m. We will begin with registration in the Borromeo Room and then move into church, where we will play some warm-up games, learn how to use the microphones, study proper singing technique, and learn the music for our first school Mass. The morning will end with pizza in the Borromeo Room, and students can then proceed to Meet and Greet. For more information, email Peg Kasun

Safe Environment Training: Are you interested in volunteering in our school throughout this year? All volunteers must complete Safe Environment Training through the Archdiocese of Milwaukee prior to signing up. We will be hosting training sessions here at St. Charles on September 20 and October 18 from 6-9 p.m. Please visit our website for more information and to sign up for one of these dates. Space is limited, so be sure to sign up soon!

Bus Transportation: If you would like your child to take the bus to and/or from school, contact Dousman Transport to add them to the bus route for this year. Please call 262-966-9690 or email them. They will not come to your location unless you sign up with them directly.
