THE WEEKLY RUNDOWN
August 16, 2018

The Weekly Rundown -- Summer Edition

Mission Statement: St. Charles Parish School in Hartland, Wisconsin nourishes and grows a vibrant Catholic community committed to innovation, responsiveness and compassion as it prepares and challenges students in their intellectual, spiritual and moral lives.

Let the countdown begin ... T-minus 11 days until we kick off the 2018-2019 School Year! Enjoy the remaining days of summer vacation by sneaking in those last minute out-of-town vacations, sleep overs, beach days, and days spent on the boat. We are busy working to finalize everything before staff and students report.

Safeguarding Training - Any individual at St. Charles Parish School that is in contact with students needs to complete Safeguarding God=E2=80=99s Children training, which includes ALL employees and volunteers. This is a one-time training and is offered at various locations in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee throughout the year. If you have not completed the training, please click to view the upcoming trainings and register.

PLEASE NOTE: Individuals who have completed the training need to have a background check and sign the Code of Conduct every five years.

Soles Walk Registration - It is that time of year to get register for the annual Archdiocese of Milwaukee's Soles Walk for Catholic Education! This year the walk is Saturday, Oct. 20 at Mount Mary University. I have been participating in this walk from the beginning (since 2013) and I look forward to it every year. It is absolutely amazing to see and be a part of an event with so many individuals that are dedicated to Catholic education. Please sign up, make a donation, and join me in this event that brings us all together to not only benefit St. Charles, but all of what Catholic education is all about. All donations stay right here at St. Charles!

Register for FREE at catholicschoolswalk.org under the "St. Charles - Hartland Crusaders" Team. Also as you prepare for the school year, put aside your gently used shoes for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.  Bind pairs with rubber bands and leave them in the boxes set up at church and school. You'll also hear much more about the Soles Walk in the coming weeks.

Teacher Update - We recently learned and are sad to report that one of our teachers is leaving. Ms. Abby Gableman who taught middle school English Language Arts and Literature has decided to move to Michigan to pursue other teaching opportunities. We wish her all the best and pray for a smooth transition into her new role, as well as continued success in her teaching practice. We will, without a doubt, miss her and the talents she shared with the students of St. Charles for the past two years. Please keep her in your prayers!

Teacher LineupComing to you Friday, Aug.17th we will send an email showcasing our rockstar lineup of teachers!

TADS Contact Information - Please take a look at your contact information in TADS and make any necessary updates. We need to make sure we have accurate records in case of an emergency. Thank you for helping us to ensure the safety and well being of all our students.

If you have moved and need to update your address please call Dousman Transport Company, the bus company, so they can update their records and routes. Please call 262-966-9690.

Back-to-School Forms - School forms were sent out on Aug.6th. Please complete these forms and turn them into the School Office by Friday, Aug. 17th. Thank you for getting these forms to the School Office prior to the start of the school year so that our office staff can be better prepared for Day 1!

Parents, thank you for all that you are doing to get your child(ren) ready for the start of a successful school year! I know and understand many hours go into this process and I know I can speak on behalf of the St. Charles Parish and School staff, that we are so very appreciative of our families for ensuring that we are partners in education and in Christ. I can=E2=80=99t wait to see everyone!

Following His plan,
Mr. Garvey
