THE WEEKLY RUNDOWN
July 26, 2018

The Weekly Rundown -- Summer Edition

From Principal Garvey

Are we really in the last week of July already?!!

Summer is flying by and things are moving along very well at St. Charles as we get closer to the start of the new school year. I hope everyone is enjoying their time with family and friends with backyard campfires, evenings on the patio, festivals, hitting the links, traveling, attending the countless number of sporting events and tournaments, getting out on the lake, and simply enjoying the awesome weather!

Just a couple things for this week ...

TADs Agreements - Agreements have been completed and all families should have received their child's agreement during the last week. Please complete the agreement by the deadline of Wednesday, Aug. 15. If you did not receive the tuition agreement via email from TADs please call the School Office at 262-367-2040 and we will resend it.

Parent Service Hours/SCRIP charges - Families who did not fulfill the Parent Service Hours for the 2017-2018 School Year will receive notification from TADs in the coming week and charges for those unfulfilled hours will be applied to your TADs account. Families who did not meet their SCRIP requirements for the 2017-2018 School Year will also receive notification from TADs with the SCRIP charges applied to their account. If you have questions about Service Hours or SCRIP please call the School Office at 262-367-2040.

Cook Position - As I mentioned, St. Charles is switching lunch vendors to Taher, Inc. and the company is looking for an individual to fill the position of lunch cook. The hours are Monday through Friday with 35 hours per week. No experience is necessary as Taher, Inc. will train and certify the right candidate.  If you are interested in this position, please email the school and we will forward your information to Taher, Inc.

I hope you continue to enjoy your summer vacation.

Following His Plan,
Mr. Garvey

Fall Fest News
Mark your calendars for Sept. 7-9 for the St. Charles Fall Fest, a three-day festival with food, music, games and rides and fun for the entire family. Save the Date now and spend the weekend at St. Charles!

* Do you typically volunteer at Fall Fest with a group of your friends or family? Would you like to volunteer with a group? This year Fall Fest organizers are offering early sign up to groups that can fill an entire shift (typically 6 to 10 or more volunteers) such as a group of food servers, bartenders, beer angels, parking lot attendants, etc.

Start getting your group together and think about what shift you would like to take. Please email Volunteer Coordinator Jane Walloch if you are interested in helping.

* Fall Fest Talent ShowCalling all entertainers! Get ready to perform during the Fall Fest Talent Show. The Talent Show/Competition is Saturday, Sept. 8 from 1 pm to 3 pm in the Cabana. Dr. Aaron Mathews, Director of Liturgical Music at St. Charles, will serve as judge along with others soon to be announced. A $100 cash prize will be awarded to the winner. Get your acts ready and stay tuned for more details!

* Fall Fest Basket Raffle Needs Your Help
We're hoping school families can help fill the many Raffle Baskets that will be raffled off during Fall Fest.
The Basket Raffle is a significant and important part of the festival.

We are looking for donations and items that can go into themed baskets. The Room Moms for each class were given the theme for their class basket and that information should have been sent to the families in that class. If you haven't heard from your Room Moms on your class theme please reach out to those moms or call the School Office at 262-367-2040.

Drop off items for the baskets to the Parish Office by Monday, Aug. 27. We hope to have all school families contribute to this very easy fundraiser.

The items will then be placed in baskets which will be wrapped up and put on display at Fall Fest beginning Friday, Sept. 7. The winning tickets for each basket will be pulled on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 9.

Basket Raffle organizers are also in need of large baskets so if you have any to donate please drop them off to the Parish Office. Cellophane wrap and other filler materials for the baskets are also in need.

For questions please call Laurie DeAngelis, Basket Raffle Coordinator, at 414-881-9231 or email laurieldeangelis@gmail.com. Thank you in advance for donating toward this important fundraiser!
