MISSION STATEMENT: St. Charles Parish School in Hartland, Wisconsin nourishes and grows a vibrant Catholic community committed to innovation, responsiveness and compassion as it prepares and challenges students in their intellectual, spiritual and moral lives.

Dear Parents,

We are gearing up for an amazing Catholic Schools Week to celebrate Catholic education! We will be bringing back the Soup-er Bowl this year, so please bring in different cans of soup that will be donated to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. Students will place soup cans in the bucket of the team that they believe will win the Super Bowl (should be the Packers, but we all know how that turned out).

Also, students will have the opportunity to guess the teacher in a fun Staff Trivia game throughout the week as well as a guess-the-teacher game by looking at pictures of teachers in their youth. Answers will be revealed over morning announcements, so stay tuned!

Please continue to send items for the Seminarian Gift Bags that 8th Grade students will be putting together on Tuesday. Thank you for your help!

It will be a fun and exciting week!

NEWS & NOTES
COVID Update: We currently have two students and one staff member at home in isolation due to testing positive for COVID-19. Additionally, we have five students in quarantine due to being considered close contacts outside of St. Charles. Please remember to continue monitoring your child's health daily and keep your kids home if they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or are not feeling well. We are grateful for all of your prayers and support for our students, staff, and school community!

Open House Thank-You: Thank you to all of the parents and students who volunteered at our Open House on Sunday! All of the families who visited us were so grateful for your time and appreciated all of your insights about St. Charles. We're excited to have new students join us for the 2022-2023 school year!

Hot Lunch Reminder: Students are able to select which hot lunch option they would like when they arrive at school every morning. In the event your child will be arriving after 8:30 a.m., please call the School Office and let us know their order. If we do not receive their order by 8:30 a.m., they will need to bring a cold lunch. Thank you for your understanding!

Wee Know Update: We were recently notified that our after-school care provider Wee Know School will not be providing their after-school services at St. Charles next school year. It was a tough decision for them, but they are unable to commit to serving students at St. Charles Parish School next year due to staffing changes. Please know that providing an after-school care program is a priority, and we are actively working to find a replacement. We will update you as soon as we know more.

Artsonia Award: 1st Grader Gigi has been nominated for Artsonia's Artist of the Week for the 3K-3rd Grade age group! To cast your vote for Gianna8416, please visit Artsonia's website by Saturday, January 29. Blick Art Materials will generously donate a $100 gift certificate to the winning school as well as a $50 gift certificate to the winning artist.

Hulafrog's Most Loved Awards: Voting is open for Hulafrog's Most Loved Awards! St. Charles is in the running for Most Loved Private School, and as last year's winner, we'd love to have your support again this year. Please visit their website for more information and to vote!

Seeking School Supply Coordinator: The Home and School Association is looking for a volunteer to shadow the current 1st Day School Supply Coordinator this Spring and then take over the role the following year! This role can easily be done from home as it's mostly done through email communication and requires minimal time commitment. Please email Jen O'Brien if you are interested in the opportunity. It's a great way to easily obtain some volunteer hours!

Seeking SCRIP Co-Coordinator: Our current SCRIP coordinator is looking for another person to help count and monitor SCRIP inventory in the Parish Office as well as ensure delivery of online and in-person orders of SCRIP cards. This is a position that will share responsibilities with the current coordinator and is an excellent way to get your volunteer hours done. Please email Aimee Behnke with any questions!

Uniform Upcycle Collection: The St. Charles uniform exchange is back! We are enthusiastically accepting donations of gently-used (no holes or tears please) uniform items. Bins will be available outside the School Office and at the West entrance of the school for you or your child to drop items off throughout the semester. We hope to build up some inventory and have sales starting next school year. We hope you'll consider giving these clothes a "second life" through the exchange!

Volunteer Opportunities: We are in need of help in our lunch room and health room! Please visit the Lunch Room sign-up page and the Health Room sign-up page to check out open opportunities. Parents must be safeguarded and have a current background check (from within the last five years) in order to volunteer. Please contact the School Office if you are unsure of your status.
