THE WEEKLY RUNDOWN
July 5, 2018

The Weekly Rundown -- Summer Edition

From Principal Garvey

I hope you are all enjoying quality time with family and friends during this first part of summer! I cannot say THANK YOU enough to all of you who have been so kind and welcoming during my first month at St. Charles. The amount of support and well wishes has been absolutely amazing and I feel truly blessed.

During my first month, I utilized every minute with Mrs. Anderson before we sent her off to Catholic Memorial High School. She was extremely gracious with her time and worked diligently to get me quickly acclimated to my new role. She deserves many thanks for her continued work at St. Charles.

Parade: I would like to give a huge shout out to Julie and Greg Kirby, Gregg Brunclik, the Parade Committee, Dr. Matthews and the students in the choir, the students and families who walked, and all those who had a hand in organizing our participation in the parade this past Sunday! My wife, Beth, and I had an amazing time meeting new faces, walking in the parade, showing off our St. Charles pride, handing out candy along the way, and racing back to school with Fr. Ken and Fr. Behling in the monsoon that overtook the parade. Without a doubt, this event was very well organized and a great opportunity for families to connect with one another and with the community. I am very much looking forward to more community events!

Lunch Program: We are in the process of switching our lunch vendor to Taher Food Service. There will be more information regarding our lunch program in the weeks to come, but I wanted to keep everyone in the loop as we work to make our lunch program top notch.

New Hires: One of the tasks that I have been working on is hiring new staff members for the upcoming school year. I will make those announcements later this month as we are still in the process of filling a few positions. Keep us in your prayers in hopes that the amazing individuals we have interviewed decide to join the team.

Recess Supervisor: We are looking to hire one additional recess supervisor to our team. If you are available Monday-Friday from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm and are interested in helping out during recess, please send me an email or call the School Office at 262-367-2040 and we can schedule a time to chat.

I pray that everyone is having a safe and enjoyable summer. Thank you again for making me feel like I=E2=80=99ve been a member of the St. Charles family for years.

Following His plan,
Mr. Garvey

Thank You Hartland Hometown Celebration Parade Volunteers

We would like to thank the following people who made the St. Charles Parish & School float a huge success again this year!

Thank you to the Parade Committee, who assembled the float, sorted/bagged candy, organized t-shirts & decorated the float. These families are the Crisci Family, Kadlcek Family, Hohenwalter Family and Pardee Family.
Thank you to the Brunclik Family for again providing all the sound equipment on the float.
Thank you to Dr. Mathews and the St. Charles Children=E2=80=99s Choir for performing on the float. They sounded great!
Thank you to Renee Krier for getting the information in the church bulletin and on the church website.
Thank you to all who donated candy-- especially Kelly Von Rueden!
Thank you to the Hohenwalter's for carrying the parade sign.
Thank you to the volunteers who helped set-up before the parade.
Thank you to the 170 parade participants who walked in the sunshine and torrential rain! It was one to remember.
Thank you to the Home and School Association for giving 3 hours volunteer time for each family who participated in the parade.
Thank you to Mrs. Anderson for giving dress down passes to students who walked for St. Charles.
Thank you Fr. Ken and Fr. Behling for walking with us!

We appreciate everyone for all that they did to make this event possible!  This is what makes St. Charles so truly special.

With sincere thanks,
Julie & Greg Kirby

Calendar Note: Our school calendar is set for the 2018-2019 School Year with the exception of grading and report card dates. Those dates will be finalized with the School Leadership Team and Mr. Garvey, and they do not affect any days not in session. This is a link to the 2018-2019 School Calendar.
