COVID-19 UPDATE
We currently have one staff member and five students quarantining at home due to being considered a close contact after exposure to a positive case outside of St. Charles.
Additionally, we mentioned last week that we had one staff member who tested positive for COVID-19 as well as one student. This information is still current. Families of students who were considered to be in close contact with these two positive cases have been notified and are now in quarantine. This includes one staff member and twenty-two students total.
We are extremely grateful for the tremendous efforts all of our families continue to make to help keep in-person learning going and our students and staff safe. Please keep our St. Charles School community in your prayers!
Winter Holiday Letter - Waukesha County Health Department
We would also like to thank you for keeping your children home when they are not feeling well, even for the little things, and for erring on the side of caution when it comes to potential exposure. It is also important to keep your children home if you or anyone in your household is not feeling well, is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, and/or is being tested for COVID-19. Thank you for your understanding!
We have had a successful school year so far due to the protocols and procedures we currently have in place and because of the enormous sacrifices of our teachers, families, and school community to keep all students and staff safe! We are extremely grateful for all that you have done and will continue to do to keep in-person instruction going at St. Charles. #WECHOOSECHRIST

WHAT'S NEW?
Fr. Ken and Fr. Nick's Video: Fr. Ken and Fr. Nick would like to share their Christmas video with you! Click on the image below to watch it.
Virtual Advent Concert: A big thank you to Mrs. Cary, our Curriculum and Instruction Coordinator, for all her work and guidance in helping bring our Advent tradition to you! Thank you to all of the teachers for their flexibility and help practicing with students! Our kiddos did a wonderful job singing and learning some new songs quickly. If you did not get a chance to check out the Virtual Advent Concert, please see the email that was sent out yesterday. Merry Christmas from our students and staff!
Lockdown Drill: We practiced our lockdown drill on Thursday, December 17, and everything went very well! Hartland Police Department was on site and had positive feedback for how well our students and staff did during the drill. At this time, they do not have any recommendations for us. We will continue to practice and assess our safety procedures so that we can make necessary improvements to ensure the safety of all students and staff. Thank you for talking with your children about these types of drills and why they are important to practice.
Knights of Columbus Christmas Poster Contest: St. Charles won this year's program participation award for the Knights of Columbus' Christmas Poster Contest! We also had many students win individual awards. Congratulations to all of the winners of this year's Knights of Columbus Christmas Poster contest!

NEWS & NOTES
Re-enrollment for 2021-2022: You should have received an email from TADS on Tuesday, December 15 to re-enroll your child(ren) for next year. Please complete your re-enrollment as soon as possible. We want to make sure you are able to reserve your spot now as we will be opening enrollment for all new families starting January 18, 2021.
SCRIP Waivers: SCRIP waivers have to be filled out yearly to allow your students to take home your SCRIP orders. This is a different form from the SCRIP Agreement that most families completed at the beginning of the school year. If you have not filled out a waiver for this school year and would like your student to bring home your SCRIP orders, please fill out this form and email it to Aimee Behnke. This will save you a trip to the Parish Office and will make your cards more easily available. Thank you again for supporting SCRIP!
Auction Updates: As we ramp up our preparations for this year=E2=80=99s annual auction, we want to share an exciting new event! This year, the auction will include themed raffle baskets, and the fun part is that the baskets will be created by donations from school families. Some of the themes to expect will be: Wine and Spirits, Gift Cards, and much more. More information will follow in the coming days to outline all the themed baskets, ideas for items that would fall within the theme, and details on when and where to drop off donations. Start cleaning out your closets, save those gift cards from this Christmas season, and keep an eye out for items you think would be a great addition to the baskets.
SCRIP Incentive for December: The class that raises the most SCRIP rebates during December will receive a Dress Down or Pajama Day (date to be decided by teacher and class). Store-bought and individually-wrapped treats will also be provided! For families with students in multiple grades, rebates will be divided equally between your children. If you want credit to go to one child in particular, please contact Aimee Behnke with the instructions. Let's get those stocking stuffers and gift cards for the holiday season! Thank you for supporting our SCRIP program!
