MISSION STATEMENT: St. Charles Parish School in Hartland, Wisconsin nourishes and grows a vibrant Catholic community committed to innovation, responsiveness and compassion as it prepares and challenges students in their intellectual, spiritual and moral lives.

Dear Parents,

Thank you for all your continued support and help getting us back to school! We are super pumped to have everyone return to the building and love seeing everyone's faces again. It has been a long time since these hallways and classrooms were filled with love, laughter, and learning, and we couldn't be happier to be back together to continue growing in Christ's love.

This year's school theme is KINDNESS. We are dedicating ourselves to showing more kindness towards others. There is a lot going on in our world these days, and now is the perfect time to show more kindness. Bonus =E2=80=94 it's free!

"Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another, as God has forgiven you in Christ." - Ephesians 4:32

Thank you for your patience as we work through our many new procedures! As with anything new, it takes time for a procedure to become routine. We are continuously working to assess our procedures and to make necessary adjustments as we learn better ways to do things while always keeping student safety the number one priority. Arrival and dismissal might take a little longer these days, but as long as our students are safe, it is totally worth it. We are asking families with just 5th-8th grade students (who do not have younger siblings in 3K-4th Grade) to stay to the right as you enter the parking lot off of Circle Drive and go around the line for the Main Entrance/Exit. This will help decrease the number of vehicles in line for the Main Entrance/Exit. There is one point where the two lines will intersect, so we need the help of parents to drive slowly and be extra cautious at all times. Thank you so much for your cooperation, understanding, and help to keep everyone safe out there.

Have a safe and restful Labor Day weekend!

Following His plan,
Mr. Garvey

WHAT'S NEW?
Spirit Wear Sale: Spirit wear is now available through Mid-City Sports! Orders are due by Monday, September 14. Click here to check out their website. Orders will be ready for pick up by late September/early October. Show your school spirit! Don't forget =E2=80=94 students can wear spirit wear tops (with uniform bottoms) on Wednesdays.

Cub Scouts: Are you interested in Cub Scouts? Is your son entering 5K-5th Grade? Cub Scout Pack 24 will be holding a recruiting event in the parking lot/field at St. Charles School on Wednesday, September 9 at 6 p.m. Information will be available about Cub Scouts, the pack, and the types of activities they do. The Cubmaster will be available to answer any questions you have. The event will feature many fun activities including air rockets to launch, the cubmobile, and ice cream sandwiches! Come join to learn how Cub Scouts helps boys grow into young men through growth in virtue and leadership in a safe and fun environment. The entire family is invited to this event, and there will be a combination of interested and current Scout families. Please contact Jacob Mrugacz with any questions and/or to RSVP.

Technology Updates: A big shout-out to Chris Thorsen and our technology team for getting St. Charles up and running and equipped for our added technology needs! Even with the short supply and high demands around the world, Chris was able to secure and deliver 30 additional Chromebooks, 18 webcams, and 18 Jabra microphone/speaker systems! We are very grateful for our tech team and the many long hours put in to get our classrooms set up and ready for our teachers. Additionally, we switched our internet over to a fiber connection this summer, allowing us to to increase our internet speed from 100Mbps to 1Gbps. This will greatly help us meet the needs of our increased demands with technology.

Another really cool addition to our school is the Technology Integrator position. Mrs. Nelson has recently completed her Master=E2=80=99s degree in Educational Technology and will transition into a split position of Tech Integrator while still continuing to teach middle school Social Studies. Mrs. Nelson will be actively working with teachers to support them as we find new ways to utilize technology in the classroom as well as increase student engagement. She will also be visiting classrooms and working with students on various tech skills and projects. Very exciting things happening at St. Charles!
