THE WEEKLY RUNDOWN
January 2, 2020

MISSION STATEMENT: St. Charles Parish School in Hartland, Wisconsin nourishes and grows a vibrant Catholic community committed to innovation, responsiveness and compassion as it prepares and challenges students in their intellectual, spiritual and moral lives.

Parents and Students,

Our Blessings in a Backpack event on Thursday, December 19 was awesome! Three hundred students and staff teamed up for an all-school service project, and we packed 3,000 bags of food for children in the Waukesha area! A special thank-you to Ms. Caswell and Mrs. Grolemund for coordinating this wonderful event and to Mr. Pierson for his help with loading, transporting, and unloading all of the boxes of food. I'd also like to thank all of the parent volunteers who picked up items for the service project the day before and transported them to St. Charles as well as the parents who helped monitor operations in the gym during the event. We are so grateful for all of the help we received — we couldn't have done it without you!

Thank you to Nancy Neuser for her phenomenal work with our 2nd and 3rd Graders on the Living Nativity! The kiddos did a wonderful job, and the event was a huge success and brought our school community closer as we celebrated Advent. I would also like to thank Ms. Ellenbecker, Mrs. Halvorson, and Mrs. Henkel for their help with practices and flexibility with scheduling.

Students in 5K-8th Grade will be completing the winter MAP tests in reading and math during the next couple of weeks. This round of test data will allow students and teachers to see areas of growth from the Fall testing period as well as track progress toward goals. Teachers will be able to continue to form/design their instruction based on the information that is provided from these assessments.

Following His plan,
Mr. Garvey
