Parents and Students,
A huge congratulations goes out to all of our 8th grade volleyball teams for their participation in the Seton Tournament last week! Our teams played well and fought for every point. A special congratulations to our 8th grade boys team for their 2nd place finish! These boys have so much to be proud of and played their hearts out. St. Charles fans packed the stands all weekend to cheer on the team. Thank you to all of the students, parents, and staff members for being there and getting loud! Thank you to coaches Mary Matyas and Kristen Basarich for sharing your passion for volleyball with the boys and for your dedication to St. Charles. Such an awesome experience, and we couldn't be more proud of our players and St. Charles community!
On another note, please remember that any time you are volunteering or visiting the school during school hours, please stop in the office to sign in and get a visitor's pass. If you are dropping off a forgotten lunch, gym shoes, uniform items, birthday treat, etc., please leave them with our office staff, and they will deliver them to the classroom. Safety and security are a top priority at St. Charles, and we need to know who is in the building at all times. Thank you for your support and help to ensure our school building remains safe!
Following His plan,
Mr. Garvey

NEWS & NOTES
Spanish Room Toys: Do you have extra toys that your children have outgrown that you haven't gotten around to donating yet? Maybe you can help us out! We are trying to incorporate more hands-on activities for our younger grades in Spanish class, and certain kinds of toys work extremely well when teaching shapes, numbers, colors, and other basics. Blocks, legos, toy food, and animals are very useful. We do not need action figures, dolls, puzzles, board games, or toy vehicles. If you aren't sure if a toy would be useful, you can either ask Mrs. Almazan or simply drop off your items outside of the school office. Mrs. Almazan will donate any items that are not suited to Spanish class to St. Vincent de Paul's. Thank you for your support of St. Charles' Spanish program!
Jingle Shop Donations: Laurie DeAngelis and her team are coordinating our Jingle Shop this year! We are in need of many new items for the Jingle Shop. Please consider donating an item so that we have enough gifts for all of the kids to purchase treasures for their loved ones. There is a bin outside of the school office to collect small gifts. All items are due by Wednesday, November 27. Thank you for your donations!
Becoming Fully Catholic: Becoming Fully Catholic (BFC) is a year-round gathering for adults who would like to think about receiving baptism, adult confirmation, or reception into the Catholic Church from another Christian community. Those with questions are encouraged to join us at any time; registration never closes. BFC meets every first and third Sunday of the month at 10:15 a.m. in the school's Music Room. Please contact Jess Panlener, Director of Discipleship, for more information or visit our web page.
