THE WEEKLY RUNDOWN
September 26, 2019

MISSION STATEMENT: St. Charles Parish School in Hartland, Wisconsin nourishes and grows a vibrant Catholic community committed to innovation, responsiveness and compassion as it prepares and challenges students in their intellectual, spiritual and moral lives.

Parents and Students,

A quick message and thank you to all of our lunchroom volunteers =E2=80=94

I just want to express my deepest gratitude for all of the volunteers who have helped in the lunchroom so far this year. It truly makes a huge difference in behavior in the kids, and things run much more smoothly now that we have a few more adults in there along with myself. You guys are incredibly awesome and very much appreciated! Thanks so much for all you do!

God Bless,
Megan Duncan
Lunch Room Coordinator

NEWS & NOTES

Dress Down Pass Sale: The sale ends tomorrowSeptember 27! Purchase five dress down passes for $10 and let your kids have days off from wearing their uniform. New this year for first semester: Each child can purchase 2 packs of 5 dress down passes ($10/pack). Print the form here and turn it in to the school office. The fee will be applied to your TADS account. Students must use all of their 1st semester passes by February 1, 2020. Dress down passes cannot be used on Mass days. Passes purchased during this sale will be distributed to families the week of October 7.

Fall MAP Test Results/Dress Down: The results from our Fall MAP test will be coming home with your child next week Wednesday, October 2. Students will be allowed to wear dress down bottoms with their spirit wear tops to celebrate their achievement.

Traveling Rosary: The Traveling Rosary Shrine will return this year starting in October. It travels from home to home on Wednesdays weekly. As a host family, you can place this blessed shrine in a special place in your home for the week and pray the Rosary together daily or as often as you can for your week. At week's end, you will need to contact the next host family to arrange the transfer. Click here to sign up to have the Traveling Rosary in your home.

Yearbook Photos: If a family decides they do not want to order school photos, they should still send the proof page back with the pose they would like used for their child's yearbook photo. Otherwise, the first pose will automatically be used in the yearbook.

Parenting and Mental Health Education Programs: This is just a reminder to complete this brief survey for Mrs. Delmore, our School Counselor, if you are interested in additional parenting and/or mental health education programs being offered at St. Charles.

Online Homework and Test Calendar: Our middle school staff created an online homework and test calendar to provide our students and families with an additional planning tool. Each grade level has a calendar that can be accessed through St. Charles' website. Click on each grade to see their calendar: 6th grade, 7th grade, and 8th grade. Tests, quizzes, and homework are listed on each day. Students will still be responsible for writing down assignments in their assignment notebooks. We hope you find this tool helpful! Please contact Principal Garvey with any questions.

Auction Update: Last year we had an amazing Mardi Gras-themed auction! As you saw in the weekly rundown, the school was able to purchase and install six new security cameras, 44 new Chromebooks, 2 charging carts, and 4 new Smart Board projectors as a result of the Crusader Challenge during the auction. We are so grateful to Wendy Crisci and Lisa Andekian for pouring their time and talent into this fantastic event. We are extremely grateful to all of our amazing parents and parishioners that made this possible. Our next auction is our 20th anniversary, and the planning has begun! Please plan to join us for our Great Gatsby Gala on February 22, 2020 at The Golden Mast. We'd love to have you join our planning committee! If you are interested in assisting with planning, please contact Kristin Walsh, come to our first auction meeting on October 16 at 6:30 p.m. at Tabi's, or sign up here. Please contact Kristin Walsh with any questions.

New Uniform Item: Students will now be able to wear the Sport-Tek 1/4-Zip Pullover as part of their uniform. They must wear their polo shirt underneath the pullover (similar to the fleece jacket option we currently offer). The pullover comes with either the parish logo or the athletic logo; both are acceptable as part of the uniform. These pullovers can be worn on Wednesdays as spirit wear, as well. Please purchase this item during our Fall Spirit Wear Sale by October 7.
