One month ago we started Lent. We are four weeks into our journey and, if you are like me, there is still some growth to be done. One area I am proud of, is the area of prayer in my Lenten journey. A friend shared the Relevant Radio app with me and in using it I have been able to add praying the rosary into my Lenten prayer time. I hope you have also found some extra time for prayers in your life. It is not too late to find additional opportunities during Lent.
Here are some things you could do at St. Charles in the next two weeks:

Lenten Penance Service, Friday, March 16 at 10:30 am in church

Silent, prayerful exit, Friday, March 16 at end of school day; Silent, prayerful entrance on Monday, March 19 during the start of the school day

Rosary with school families, Wednesday, March 21 at 2:45 pm in chapel

Stations of the Cross re-enacted by our 4th Graders on Friday, March 23 at 2:30 pm and again at 7 pm in church
As you can see there are several prayer opportunities for our school families to take advantage of this Lent. I look forward to seeing you at any of these events.
I am also looking forward to celebrating =E2=80=9CA Night of Irish Blessings=E2=80=9D this Saturday at the St. Charles Parish and School Auction and Dinner. Much work and preparation has gone into this endeavor. I especially love connecting with the guests and volunteers as we look over the Silent Auction Items. I have my eye on a few items. The Dessert Dash proves to be another fun part of the evening.
I am very thankful for the Home and School Association and their amazing team who work to make this an evening to remember. I am sure many Irish eyes will be smiling on Saturday evening when we all will be a bit Irish.
And, finally, I want to thank all of you who have shown me great support in the announcement on my resignation. It was a difficult decision, but I have great faith that God has plans for me and the community of St. Charles.
I also want to continue to reassure you that the School Commission, along with Fr. Ken and I are very confident that we will find the right person to lead St. Charles. As Fr. Ken mentioned, the Search Committee is well underway in their pursuit of the next principal. Representatives from the staff, parents, parish and school leadership comprise the Search Committee. We have the position posted and look forward to attracting strong candidates. Trust me when I tell you St. Charles will attract strong candidates for this position.
Here is how you can help us. First, pray for those discerning their call to school leadership, especially the call to lead St. Charles. Next, contact Jon Ingrisano, Fr. Ken or myself to let us know the qualities that you feel are needed for the position. And, finally, continue to be a strong ambassador for St. Charles Parish School. St. Charles is a strong, faith-filled community who values Catholic education. That does not change.
Again, thank you for the support you have shown me. I am humbled and extremely grateful.
