First Reconciliation and First Communion

The sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion are central parts of the Catholic faith! Whereas Reconciliation (also known as Confession) is God’s beautiful act of forgiving, First Communion has to do with the central part of the Catholic Mass. In preparing to receive First Communion, a Catholic is preparing to receive the real and physical presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist!

Our Grade 2 sessions meet approximately 3 times each month starting in September and finishing up with First Holy Communion in May. Please find a detailed calendar on our website or stop by the office to pick up a print copy.

In Grade 2, in cooperation with the parents, we prepare the children to receive the great gifts of the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Because Grade 2 is a Sacramental year, we have several parent meetings and other obligations that are required in preparing for these beautiful Sacraments. Please prioritize these important dates and be especially attentive and responsive to all communications.

Our Grade 2 classes meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm.

To Register for Child Formation Sessions, please fill out our online form HERE (one per child and recently updated on 8-13-20) AND return the Emergency Medical and Payment forms (one of each per family) along with your payment to the Child Formation Office.
